Paronella Park

Paronella Park is a beautiful landscape surrounded by lush rainforest, tropical vegetations, cascading waterfalls and bridges connecting to an ancient Spanish Palace. This heritage-listed tourist attraction located at Mena Creek, south-west of Innisfail, was built in the 1930’s by a Spaniard, José Paronella. He fulfilled his childhood dreams of constructing a Spanish Palace inspired by the castles of Catalonia: a tropical paradise which was once home to him and his wife. Nearly a century later, the palace still stands today and Paronella park continues to undergo restoration projects to keep Paronella’s dream alive.
